JACK PETCHEY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Plume School has been nominating students for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award since January 2008.  During this time we have had 33 student winners and 3 Leader Award winners.  As a winner, the student receives a framed certificate, an enamel badge, a cheque for £200 to use on a project in school and a winners medallion at a special presentation evening usually held in September of each year.  Leader Award winners are appointed once a year and are given an opportunity to apply for a grant from the scheme to use at the school.

Jack Petchey has been running this scheme since 1999, through the Jack Petchey Foundation, which gives grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25.  The Foundation is eager to help young people take advantage of opportunities and play a full part of society.  The major focus of their work is the Achievement Award Scheme, which we run at Plume School.  The Foundation focuses on London and Essex.  Since it has been established the Foundation has awarded grants totalling over £65million.
