This is a qualification that is designed to provide specialist work-related knowledge. It gives students an understanding of the skills required to further studies or employment.

Students benefit from a wide range of units designed to give an insight into the Health and Social part of the course and have to complete work experience and plan their own personal development.

The course is assessed entirely through coursework with no examinations and you will gain a Pass, Merit or Distinction. The work is completed through research, case studies and work experience and gives students an ideal preparation for university.

The course offers two options:

The Award is a BTEC subsidiary diploma which involves 6 units and is equivalent to one AS/A2 course , consisting of three core units and three specialist units.

3. Health, Safety and Security in Health and Social Care
