Music Technology
Welcome to the Music Technology area, here you will find information regarding the A-level Music Technology course at Plume School.
Music Technology is offered within the sixth form and the course aims to provide students with the knowledge to succeed within a studio environment.
Using our suite of 14 MIDI workstations, students will become proficient in musical sequencing. Students will have access to Propellerhead's Reason 4, which is a virtual software studio. Students will also be taught how to use Cubase & SoundForge.
In the studio, students will learn how to record using our dedicated sound proof studio; complete with a 16 channel mixing desk, PC, Fostex hard disk recorders, plus plenty of outboard audio effects and processors. They will also be taught principles of microphone types and placements using our full suite of microphones as well as mixing their final tracks.
