Plume Careers

We strongly believe that our students should have access to a high quality careers education, advice and guidance programme; such a programme can inspire, motivate, inform and support students through key decision times.

PlumeCareers provide a variety of careers support for our students. Our programme includes:

One to one careers guidance

Students will be offered the chance to book a careers guidance appointment with Louise Brazier, our independent and impartial careers adviser from Directions IAG Ltd. Students can talk to Louise about their ideas and make sure they are heading in the right direction or if they have no ideas, Louise can start exploring some possible choices with them. Parents/Carers are also welcome to attend these appointments with their sons/daughters. Louise is in school two days a week and can be contacted via or by telephoning the school. 01621 854681

We also hold regular drop-ins in the Careers Centre especially at transition times.

Theme Weeks

We have a number of themed weeks during which a specific topic of interest is highlighted. Often coinciding with “national” promotions, we have a number of speakers and activities booked to cover topics such as National Careers Week, Apprenticeship Week, S.T.E.M. Awareness and of course Futures Weeks. The latter are aimed focus on option choices and compliment other essential College information.

Plume Careers Fair usually in November Time: 6pm –8.30pm

An opportunity to meet a wide cross section of Colleges, Universities, training providers and businesses. Explore the career pathways available in a fast changing world. The Fair usually incorporates interactive “hands on “activities, short briefing talks, and chances to talk to former students about their own career journey. There is always an area set aside for local businesses

Mock Interviews

Using local business professionals students can experience a realistic interview tailored to requirements for example; university, work experience, part time employment. This includes CV workshops and employability skills.
