Year 9 Information
I am pleased to introduce you to our Year 9 Pastoral Team, a group of experienced professionals who are delighted to be joining the year group at Fambridge Road Campus and supporting them in their transition from Mill Road Campus.

Mrs Southgate and I are looking forward to supporting the Year 9 students' pastorally, and with their well-being and personal development throughout this year. I am experienced in taking a year group through the next three critical years. This includes selecting GCSE options, which will be an important part of the coming year. After returning from Maternity leave, I am very excited to meet the year group and begin working with them. Mrs Southgate will continue to work closely with the year group that she knows so well and I am positive that together we will create a positive, supportive and creative environment where every student can succeed.

Mr Meadows is our Fambridge Road Campus lead. Mr Meadows works closely with all pastoral teams to help support and guide students through their academic journey

Mrs Bush, Head of Year 9
Mrs Bush leads on behaviour and attitudes and works closely with subject and faculty leads to support students in their academic progress. She is very passionate about building respect and resilience into the year groups she works with. As well as supporting students through their academic and personal challenges.
Mrs Southgate, Assistant Head of Year 9
Mrs Southgate leads the safeguarding of our students superbly. Providing one on one support and guidance to help students navigate their social, emotional and mental well-being. Mrs Southgate is very experienced in her role and also has vast knowledge of the journey that Fambridge Road will bring.

Mrs Southgate worked at the academy since September 2014, starting my role as a student support manager; looking after the pastoral and safeguarding care of my first-year group, she started with them in Year 9. Soon the role developed into the Assistant Head of Year, which she has now been in completing for the past seven years.
​
The current Year 9’s are the third-year group that she has had the pleasure of supporting. There is nothing better than seeing the rewards that students gain in their time with us, most importantly their exam success in Year 11.
Mrs Southgate aims to support the current cohort through their next transition to Fambridge Road, also welcoming our new Head of Year Mrs Bush to our year group. Wishing all the students the very best of luck for the coming year.

We believe that a strong pastoral foundation is key to academic success and personal growth, and we are here to listen, guide, and inspire our students every step of the way.
