About the Virtual Learning
About the Virtual Learning Hub
The Virtual Learning Hub is the academy's web center of the information required for parents, carers and students regarding the use of Microsoft Teams and the accessing of their lessons and the expectations that go with each virtual lesson.
The Virtual Learning Hub has mini tabs linked to all timetables for the students of Years 7-10 as well as Year 12. These timetables will be live on the academy website available for viewing ahead of the dates of the commencement of the virtual learning lessons on Microsoft teams. Each academy day is made up of three lessons and a once a week form time and a weekly assembly.
The structure of the day will be:
9 - 9.20am - Form Time (to be accessed once a week dependent on the students tutor not daily)
9.30am - 10.30am - Period 1
11am - 12pm - Period 2
1pm - 2pm - Period 3
Also, in the mini tabs, are the behaviour and expectations for the students that were shared with them via the academy's email system. All communications and letters that have been sent out to parents and carers regarding the new Virtual Learning Hub and these letters will have been uploaded to the relevant tabs to enable all parents and carers to continue to access these communications.
Finally, the videos and FAQ's are accessible via the mini tabs and will give clear guidance and tips on how to access the lessons for both students and parents and carers as well as give advice on any issues that may arise during the use of Microsoft Teams. A support email address has also been created to ensure that specific questions or queries that students or parents and carers have regarding the access arrangements and the use of Microsoft teams for learning are answered - firstname.lastname@example.org.
As an academy, we hope that you thoroughly enjoy this exciting experience and we are certain that students will thrive in the new additional learning environment that we have created for the coming Summer term.
