DfE Destinations 2020/21

Education and apprenticeship destinations after key stage 4 and 16 to 18 study

Below are the destinations of your pupils who were at the end of key stage 4 in 2020/21 or students who reached the end of 16 to 18 study in 2020/21. Only education destinations and apprenticeships are included. Additional employment destinations will be included in the School and College Performance Tables data that we will publish in October 2023 and January 2024; many institutions will then see a higher headline indicator than the education and apprenticeship totals in the summary below.

We provide this information to help you know which of your former students we have recorded as staying in education for two full terms (October to March) or in an apprenticeship for at least six consecutive months.

Please note this is not a checking exercise and we do not require feedback on whether our records match information you may already hold.

A summary of your institution's data is below. There are also links to download a file containing your pupil level destinations data and a document explaining how the measures are calculated.

Key stage 4 school summary

Key stage 4 2020/21 leavers – destination measures (activity in the year following key stage 4 completion)

16-18 school or college summary

Students who reached the end of 16 to 18 study in 2020/21 – destination measures (activity in the year following 16 to 18 institution attendance)

Student results are allocated to providers in such a way that it is possible that some students included in the 16 to 18 cohort for the 2020/21 academic year left your institution in 2018/19 or 2019/20 academic years. In these cases, we report their activity in the year following their departure and not in year 2021/22. More detail on this methodology is given in the downloadable guidance document.

The tables below present data for students who studied at different qualification levels (Level 3, Level 2, Level 1 or Entry level, or where the level could not be determined).
